Abstract

This study demonstrates that it is possible to determine the thermophysical characteristics of humid porous media by utilising the transient plane source (TPS) method. In order to comprehend qualitatively the phenomenon of the transfer of mass and energy, a set of outline measures has been undertaken, such as the measurement of the degree of porosity by using a mercury porosity meter, and of density and porosity by using the helium peaknometer, as well as measures which are suitable for determining time and form which are necessary for cellular expanded autoclaved concrete conditioning (CCEA). Furthermore, some experiments were conducted in order to evaluate the measured parameters within a correct utilisation of the TPS method.
