Quality control in testing, analysis and simulation and the application of system identification techniques
This paper discusses quality control as applied to the thermal performance of buildings. Quality in general can be associated with an improvement, or something specified. It is often a difficult issue and does not always get the attention it needs. The reason for this can be different. Communication, interpretation and lack of knowledge on how quality can be assured and controlled is often given as a reason. Quality aspects have to be considered in the development process, from research to application and standardization. Quality should be assured through standards of the scientific community and by complying to the standards of customer requirements. Quality gives a recognized status and makes subjects legally available.
