Originally, the research project objective was to formulate, tune and test an on-line measurement system intended to control ash, volatile substances and fossil mixture humidity within current industrial practice, predicting possible real-time intervention in the production process. A methodology intended to calculate the standard of volatile substances, being based on the elementary chemical composition of the fossil mixture, has been elaborated. This function seems to be reliable enough in the light of the experiments conducted, and this will be proved by a sequence of checks on its actual reliability before planning its utilization on-line for the qualitative control of the baking mixture.

The utilization of such a calculation methodology will bring about unquestionable advantages that may be summarized as follows:
highly frequent analysis and sampling;
low financial costs;
immediate availability of the details of the checking;
opportunity of intervening on-line to make corrections. ions.
