Nuclear material safeguards for P&T
In partitioning and transmutation (P&T) scheme minor actinides are separated in larger quantities, which when mixed to the standard U, Pu fuel disturb some established safeguards techniques. Some nuclides form critical masses, but due to spontaneous fission and short-half liven only (237)Np has to be considered as weapon utilisable. There exist already analytical techniques to determine the minor actinide content for the purpose of nuclear material safeguards.
