The personal computer (PC) program EUSES (European Union System for the Evaluation of Substances) is designed to be a decision-support system for the evaluation of the risks of substances to man and the environment. The system is fully described in the EUSES documentation and is based on the EU Technical Guidance Documents (TGD's; EC-TGD, 1996) for risk assessment of new and existing substances. The documentation and program can be obtained from the European Chemicals Bureau, Ispra, Italy. This manual will guide you through the EUSES 1.00 computer program. It is intended for persons who already know how to use Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 programs. General background information on the EUSES program is also provided.
