Similarity physics and nondimensional scaling in tokamak plasma
Phenomena of similarity physics and profile self-consistency have been experimentally observed in tokamaks. In this paper dimensional analysis is used to establish a new equation for nondimensional parameters governing tokamak ohmic plasmas: V(*)H-(-gamma) = Const, where v(*) is the neoclassic collisionality and H the nondimensional Hugill number that characterizes the radiation phenomenon in the tokamak. Gamma is a constant with values between 2.1 and 2.3 for tokamaks. Several nondimensional scalings have been deduced for different physical quantities.
