Abstract

The purpose of the optimized sensor locations and sampling methods in industrial stacks for environment modelling project (OLASIS) is to develop a method for flue gas flow (velocity) measurement in stacks or ducts with the use of computational fluid dynamics and with the use of a model based on neural networks. In the framework of the OLASIS project an investigation has been performed to obtain an overview of the current regulations and measurement procedures for flue gas flow measurement in the European Union. This investigation was made to establish the starting point for this research and has been performed by means of an inquiry. The result of this inquiry is reported together with the state of the art in the European Union of the methods used for flue gas flow measurement.
