Abstract

The European Activation System (EASY) is the complete package of data, inventory code and processing system for activation calculations. SYMPAL is the processing tool for the cross section library; however, it does not cover the tasks of evaluation, visualization or decay data assembly. It was decided to produce an interface with the aims of: insulating the user from direct contact with the data, providing a means of visualizing data, maintaining all libraries and automatically logging all the data changes.

SAFEPAQ is the interface that has been developed to fulfil these objectives. It uses the PV-WAVE environment which has the capability of producing a 'stand-alone' Graphical User Interface based on 'widgets'. SAFEPAQ has been implemented as a windows (Motif) application using the standard menus, dialogue boxes and buttons common to such applications. The report provides a description of the various facilities provided, showing the various dialogue boxes that will be displayed and describing how SAFEPAQ should be used to perform various tasks. .
