An improved model for the parallel impurity transport in EDGE2D
A 21 moment description of the parallel transport has been successfully implemented into the EDGE2D-code, using the method of reduced charge states to keep the amount of computing needed to a minimum. The new model allows for arbitrary impurity densities and masses and can consistently accommodate any number of impurity species. A non-classical description of the pressure anisotropy is used which keeps it within its physical bounds.
