The main goal of this work was to qualify the fatigue life of spot-welded stainless steel sheets type AISI 301 LN and AISI 304, with austenitic structure, in order to expand their use range to the large transport vehicles and particularly in the railway field which presents high cycle service stresses; to reach this aim, stainless steel sheets of 1.5 x 2.0 and 2.5 mm thickness was tested under stress conditions. Since these new uses require mechanical work involving strong deformation to the stainless steel sheets, the testing operation were executed work hardened and spotwelded materials. Testing activities were divided as follows:

- Definition of spot-welding parameters in overlapped edges configuration;
- Acquisition of fatigue strength data on cold bent and spot-welded sheets in overlapped edges configuration joint.
