In order to assess the mobility of contaminants in soil/water systems sorption dataobtained from column methods are shown to be preferable to batch methods.
This presentation introduces a new column method for the determination of sorption data. Preliminary results for 2 test compounds (eg atrazine and hexachlorobenzene, have shown a fit standard measurement with other column methods). The advantages and disadvantages of the new method (soil column high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) beta counting method) with a classical column method are reported.
