Abstract

The electrical performances of spheral solar cells (under simulated light) at different inclination angles have been investigated and compared to those of a flat device. The enhancement of the spheral solar cell's performance due to the unique optics of the cell, has been theoretically predicted and experimentally verified. The normalised cosine response at 400 nm presented a 30 increase at angles of incidence corresponding to elevations on the sphere surface between 45 and 60 .
