Study on potential benefit to airport/ATM congestion through special operational procedures for rotorcraftFunded under: FP2-EURET
This study is aimed at assessing the benefits provided by rotorcraft which offers the capability of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL), thus representing a promising, additional element for coping with airport and air traffic management (ATM) congestion. This study focused on the integration of VTOL-operation at airports addressing operational and control procedures as well as appropriate ATM equipment. Furthermore, the potential capacity gain through rotorcraft traffic was quantified. This Final Report comprises the work package reports of the study preceeded by a comprehensive summary. Following the reports the individual results of the studies' various subjects are presented peaking in their application and interpretation within the capacity simulation.
