The workshop dealt with the problem of the determination of the boundary layer depth in complex terrain and the impact that this parameter has on atmospheric dispersion. The study consists of a sensitivity analysis of boundary layer depth parametrizations and the quantification of the impact that different formulations have on dispersion in complex terrain. A mesoscale model has been used to reproduce the TRANSALP experiment meteorological field and a particle model that includes the boundary layer depth as key parameter, to simulate the tracer release performed during the experiment.
