Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

The assessment of exposure to chemical agents forms an intrinsic part of several steps in the arrangements for risk management of the working environment. The reliability of exposure data is of fundamental importance to the whole process. This report, which is in four main parts, reviews the factors that need to be taken into account in order to establish an unbiased dataset that can be relied on for use in standard setting. It includes a critical review of existing exposure data and of existing exposure models. After a preliminary introduction to the subject part two discusses the problems, part three proposes some solutions and part four suggests how the quality of exposure data can be improved for standard setting in the future.
