Environmental Institute annual report 96
This report presents the Environment Institute's highlights of 1996. The institute has been active in a wide range of projects including: the aerosol characterization experiment; the preparation and implementation of directives on atmospheric pollution; the principles and the basic rules of functioning of the Alpine observation and information system; the control of fraud; the harmonization of chemical and microbiological analytical methods in the fields of food, animal feed, cosmetics and chemicals; support to the EC regarding environmental policies on chemicals through the European Chemicals Bureau; satellite remote sensing for lake monitoring; fate and activity modelling of environmental pollutants using structure-activity relationships; forest degradation; and auto-oil studies.
