Two analytical methods for lead, tin, antimony and bismuth determination in steels at low levels, about 0.0001%, were carried out. The determination were undertaken by means of inductively coupled plasma spectrometry. The first method used an organic medium extraction with phosphines for the four elements under study. The proposed second method was the determination of the four elements from their hybrides generation. For checking the validity of the methods, a set of different international reference samples was analyzed. Finally repeatability tests of the method at short terms for all the elements were made.
