Fast Fourier transform for Voigt profile: Comparison with some other algorithms
There are different algorithms describing the Voigt profile. This profile is encountered in many areas of physics which could be limited by the resolution of the instrumentation used to measure it and by other phenomena like the interaction between the emitted waves and matter. In nuclear measurement field, the codes used to characterize radionucleides rely on algorithms resolving the Voigt profile equation. The fast Fourier transform (FFT) algorithm allows the validation of some algorithms.
