The programme applies to all sectors of education and covers a huge range of activities. It gives pupils and students of all ages and all social backgrounds an insight into the European dimension of the subject matter they are studying, in order to develop their consciousness of a common cultural identity. This document contains a detailed description of each of the SOCRATES activities for which financial backing is available and gives important practical information for all candidates wishing to take part in the programme.
