Public schemes promoting the active involvement of employees in innovationFunded under: FP4-INNOVATION, IS-SPRINT 1
The paper reports on a SPRINT policy workshop held in December 1994 and presents results from a survey of European schemes. Points of discussion and the positions of the social partners present at the workshop are highlighted and problems with designing and managing participation oriented schemes mentioned. The workshop provided an opportunity to exchange experiences between the tow communities of technology and organizational innovators. Lack of cooperation between these communities and territorial thinking in designing new schemes were mentioned as a problem. Pilot demonstration projects applying participation oriented innovation approaches to practical cases of technology innovation were suggested as a potential experimental activity under the Commission's new innovation programme (Activity Three of the Fourth Framework Programme).
