Divertor detachment during neon injection in TCV
Neon injection under feedback control has recently been performed for the first time in the tokamak à configuration variable (TCV). The target plasma is an ohmic, L-mode, SNL, open diverted equilibrium with I(p)=280kA, q(95)=3.5, Kappa(95)=1.6, a high poloidal depth and long connection lengths to the LFS strike zone. Results are reported for density scans with two levels of Ne in the plasma. The divertor plasma remains attached at low densities but at the highest densities, a rapid partial detachment is observed across the entire divertor fan.
