  • Research, development and implementation of simultaneous low NO(x)/CO combustion technology for gaseous fuel firing in the iron and steel industry


The main objectives of this joint work were:

- To improve the current knowledge on the formation mechanisms of NO(x) and CO for variable conditions of furnace performance;
- To develop basic mathematical models for the improvement of the prediction of CO and NO(x) in mixed type burners;
- The retrofitting of the current burner design to achieve lower levels of NO(x) and CO emissions without affecting its thermal efficiency.

This report contains the condensed results of the project. Furthermore, it is a consolidated version, since it includes the reports of all four partners. ners.
