Two experiments have been performed to determine the spin assignment of (107)Ag and (109)Ag neutron resonances in the epithermal region. By using the low-level population method and information from primary gamma-rays the spins of fifty-three (107)Ag resonances and seventy-eight (109)Ag resonances have been determined. From the data analysis, clear evidence has been found that the population of the low-lying states of the compound nuclei depends also on the orbital angular momentum of the resonance; this dependence can be exploited as a new method for the assignment of the resonance parities.
