Materials used indoors and emissions of organic pollutants
The subject of emissions of organic pollutants from materials used indoors, particularly construction materials, is described in a way understandable to architects, engineers, designers, producters, etc. The following aspects are dealt with: emitting materials and compound classes emitted and the most frequently emitted single compounds; health effects of the emissions; a chemical and sensory measurements of the emissions; consequences of the emissions on economy and social relationships; existing or envisaged actions aimed at the reduction of the emissions and/or of their consequences; a European method for the evaluation of the emissions from construction materials.
