Abstract

This report aims at complementing the more technologically oriented work which has dominated transport innovation diffusion studies in the past by providing an overview of recent findings on possible strategies for moving towards sustainable mobility. It focuses on individual mobility, looking at the determinants of mobility behaviour and associated lifestyles. The study proposes to indicate the extent to which socio-economic aspects in automobility have already been examined in research efforts or might even have been taken into account in practical projects. Moreover, it reviews research approaches and methods which are aimed at direct intervention in mobility behaviour or which could be used to attain those ends in the future.
