Effects of collisionality and finite aspect ratio on the bootstrap current in tokamaks
The Fokker-Planck codes CQL3D and CQLP have been used to compute the transport coefficients for the bootstrap current, within the formulation of the neoclassical theory, using the adjoint function formalism. In particular, the code CQLP allows to investigate not only arbitrary aspect ratios, but also every collisional regime, solving the drift-kinetic Fokker-Planck equation along the magnetic field line on a given flux surface. The calculation has been performed for different axisymmetric tokamak equilibria and the results are compared with published analytical formulae.
