Abstract

The COST action 814 is focused on research into crop development in cool and wet regions of Europe. A workshop was held in Radzików (PL), 13-15 March, 1997. The workshop dealt with physiological and genetic adaptation of crop species to cool, wet climate. The subject areas included growth at low temperature, especially under mildly cool periods, plant metabolism modifications with special attention to photosynthesis as well as low temperature acclimation, and genetic potential for new crops for cold and wet climate. The contributions are published in these proceedings.
