  • Semi- and non-volatile organic compounds in house dust: Development of an analytical method based on combined supercritical fluid extraction-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and its application to indoor measurements

Abstract

Indoor pollution by semi-volatile and non-volatile organic compounds has been investigated using house dust as a sample matrix. An analytical method based on supercritical fluid extraction (SFE), pre-separation and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) analysis has been set up and applied to the analysis of organic compounds in house-dust samples. Ten dust samples from different houses have been collected and analysed. 178 different compounds have been identified in the SFE extracts.
