Experiments on hydrogen permeation through structural materials of the HCPB-blanket system
This report presents the data on hydrogen/deuterium permeation through the martensitic stainless steel MANET II (Martensitic for NET) and Incoloy 800. Both materials are currently structural reference material for the demonstration fusion reactor DEMO. The natural oxide formed on the surface of these materials can act as efficient permeation barrier for hydrogen isotopes, thus significantly reducing the tritium purification system.
