Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

Some 750 European industrialists, researchers, engineers, urban planners and officials gathered in Toulouse to debate Europe's future industrial research policy. The conference involved mixed discussions: there were round-table debates, open discussions on Europe's research and development priorities, and more than 50 presentations of research projects. The whole event revolved around the concept of Europe's research at the service of its people, and the main talks were divided into three key areas of industrial research: the urban environment, the factory of the future, and aeronautics. This report presents the main findings of the meeting.
