Alternative innovation indicators and determinants of innovation
Part one of this report summarizes the discussion of experts on innovation indicators which took place in December 1994 at Brussels. This summary results in a list of weak and strong points of various alternative innovation indicators presently available. Part two analyses three types of innovation output indicator which have recently become available: new product announcements in trade journals; sales of products new to the firm; and sales of products new to the industry.
