Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

The 17 demonstration projects, managed by the Life Sciences and Technologies Directorate of the European Commission and described in this second volume, correspond to projects selected under the second and third calls of the three Life Sciences and Technologies programmes. The projects are in the fields of biotechnology, agriculture and fisheries and biomedicine and health. Each project description contains a summary of the current state of knowledge, a description of the demonstration objectives of the project, followed by a brief outline of the work content and the role of each of the partners in the project. A brief indication of the exploitation plans and the identification and interaction with the target groups for the extended audiences is also included. The description of each project is completed by a short statement by the coordinator on the reasons why the demonstration project is important for carrying the research results closer to exploitation.
