Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

The project deals with the development of safety modules in energy-saving and space-saving LSI, hybrid or SMD technology. The project further aims to reduce any future restrictions and to allow transducers and/or data gathering equipment which have been fitted with the newly developed interface module to be freely connected to data evaluation units. At the very least, it should be possible to simplify the procedure.

In addition to the already developed interface modules as part of the project new modules will be developed. The recently developed modules take the analogue and frequency interfaces as used in mines into account and transform the input signals into normalised voltage levels for transmission. In many operations nowadays data are transmitted in series via bus systems. In order to effect the switching of the analogue and frequency interfaces of the sensors and data evaluation equipment to the bus systems, the development of serial coupling modules is very urgently required. These will enable the transmission of data to the integrated data-gathering equipment within the bus systems. .
