Abstract

This publication is a special issue of the journal which is dedicated to sensitivity analysis. Sensitivity analysis (SA) and its companion discipline, uncertainty analysis (UA), are modelling tools that have widespread use in fields as diverse as economics, physics, medicine, environmental and social sciences, as well as wherever mathematical models are used. Sensitivity analysis aims to evaluate the sensitivity of model output to changes in model input (ie the rate of change of the response function relative to the input factors). SA thus explores the model properties in relationship to the input parameters.
