Abstract

In the course of the research project three non-corroding steel types in smooth, notched and welded conditions were examined for their oscillating properties under the following axial loads:

- X 2 Cr 11 (1.4003) with ferrite structure;
- X 2 CrNiN 18 7 (1.4318) with austenitic structure;
- X 5 CrNiMo 15 2 (1.4589) with ferrite-martensitic structure.

Generally speaking, all three types of steel are superior to the aluminium alloys in respect of their oscillating properties. Based on the test results of this project the construction industry is now in possession of numerous statistically substanstiated design characteristics which facilitate the best possible choice of non-corroding steel for constructions. ions.
