Brainstorming workshop for theme I of the standards, measurement and testing in foodstuffs - fifth frameworkFunded under: FP4-SMT
The principle aims of the workshop were to identify individual research and technology development (RTD) needs related to standards, measurement and testing (SMT) of the food and feed processing industry, and to advise the EC Directorate General XII for Science, Research and Development of the needs related to future research of Theme I of the SMT programme, intended for the preparation Framework V. Contributions were received via either personal attendance at the workshop or via a questionnaire. They identified research priorities in the food and feed processing sectors in relation to written standards, the quality of products and services and the fight against fraud, with particular reference to analytical methods, sensors and automation and certified reference materials (CRMs). This report summarizes their findings.
