Land use planning for urban and regional air qualityFunded under: IC-COST
This report presents the findings of collaborative research in cities throughout Europe into urban planning and its relation to regional air quality. The aim of the project was to produce a framework for the analysis of existing environmental policies and to identify future policy direction. An interactive policy between emissions control and urban land-use may bring environmental improvements in the long term. The report includes details of research given into the use of computer modelling for environmental impact monitoring and forecasting at the regional level. In addition, there are case studies on the viability of existing land-use policies and proposals for minimising travel times in urban areas through responsible urban planning.
