Abstract

The Ispra Establishment of the European Commizions JRC was set up in the late Fifties. In the 1992 project, called ECOCENTRE Ispra, was set in motion with the financial support from the European Parliament, which wanted to demonstate the feasibility of improving the environmental impact of an ageing research area according to criteria of sustainability. The importance of clear rules and a guarantees for correct energy retrofit in buildings was straightforward, thus acceptance procedures have been defined for this scope. In this paper the procedures adopted for the acceptance of two major retrofit are described.
