Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

The dialogue with users is already since some time one of the major themes at many soil related meeting and conferences (Catizzone,1998 ). There seems still to be a gap between the views of the soil science community and the actual stakeholders on soil protection issues. Soil scientists tend to consider soil al something to be protected "per se" as an environmental compartment of its own right, while the stakeholders may have very different views about soils and soil functions. Soil is verey complex medium with a number of functions, as well all know. Most of human activities are performed on or in soils.
