A chemical separation method was developed and implemented into a robotized glove-box in order to achieve the separation of U and Pu from highly diluted solutions. The new procedure is based on an extraction chromatography using the UTEVA - Spec resin. It achieves the separation of 3 samples in duplicate per run, containing Pu (U) in the range of 60 ng/mL (1 ug/mL) to 10 ug/mL (200 ug/mL) prior to the automatized preparation of alpha targets and mass spectrometry (MS) filaments. These concentrations correspond to a mass range of Pu (U) of 0.5 ug (10 ug) to 10 ug(200 ug) per sample.
