Plan view and cross section transmission electron microscopy was used to investigate the microstructure of magnesium aluminate spinal following room temperature irradiation . The results found demonstrate that swift heavy ion radiation can reduce microstructural changes not achievable with conventional elastic collizion irradiation at comparable temperatures.
