Innovative Nuclear Fuels and Applications - Limits of Todays Fuels and Concepts for Innovative Fuels
Part I of this contribution on innovative nuclear fuels gives a summary of current developments and problems of todays fuels, ie enriched UO(2) and UO(2) with a few % of PuO(2) (MOX fuel) or Gd(2)o(3). The problems and property changes caused by high burnups are discussed.
