A simple high-resolution urban air pollution dispersion mode for management systems
The requirements to an urban air pollution dispersion model to be applied in a management system are very severe. The spatial resolution applied by the model has to be high, so the pollution in the single streets can be estimated. This implies a maximum resolution in the order of 5 meters. Thus, for a larger town (1 million inhabitant or more), the number of calculational cells becomes several millions. However, due to the large number of scenarios to be handled in a management system, the CPU time required for a single calculation has to be rather limited (at least less than real time).
