Abstract

The development of goaf cavity filling technology enables underground cavities to be used for the deposition of waste residues. As part of the development and optimization of this technology, this project had tried to describe the hydraulic conveying behaviour of a slurry in terms of basic slurry properties, to examine the rheologic properties of stowing slurries, and to investigate the flow behaviour of highly concentrated slurries within pipelines. The development of pre-treatment steps to improve the quality of pure residue slurries, the production of the goaf cavity filling slurry, and the feasibility of underground utilization of shredder residues produced during the scrapping of motor cars have also been examined.
