Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

The scope of environmental socio-economic research is, by nature, broad and varied and there are many possible ways to display results depending on the readers' interests. Since one of the main aims of the EU environmental socio-economic research is to promote sustainable development, the compilation has been organized around the structure of the current Community programme of policy and action in relation to the environment and sustainable development. The report highlights in some cases research has anticipated (rather than responded to) policy concern. This is the case for example for product policy, which has in the meantime been recognized as a key environmental issue.
