The application of rectangular hollow sections in metal structures has constructional and manufacturing advantages, but there are problems with the connection zones of welded lattice structures. Five different types of high-strength steel, welded connections were tested under fatigue load. K- and X-joints as well as tubes with transversal and longitudinal stiffeners and butt welds have been examined. Comparisons with known calculations rules, such as Eurocode 3, are made
