The report is a comprehensive overview on Earth observation systems and provides a snapshot of the situation in fall 1998. It is based on a report generated by 'Hydalp', a project funded by the CEO (Centre for Earth Observation) Programme of the European Commission. The characteristics of operational spaceborne Earth observation sensors are illustrated in detail. Parameters include a description of the various missions, a categorization of the instruments on-board as well as the orbital parameters. Derived products, name and contact addresses of suppliers are listed as well. Where possible, indicative prices are also furnished. Most categories include links to Internet addresses for further information.
