The computer code CALEMBOUR of the "Laboratoire de Mécanique des Sols Structures et Matériaux" was chosen as a working computer code for this study of the numerical simulation of complex automotive parts drawing, and enabled nonlinear steel behaviour to be modelled. Modifications were made as a result of the preliminary study of the computer code's performance using an industrial automotive part from Audi and a laboratory part from PSA. A complex laboratory tool was also created so that laboratory tests could be carried out to validate the computer code. The objective of simulating an automotive part of small size was achieved by comprehensive computations on CRAY and a powerful workstation. Parametric analysis on mesh and numerical factors has shown that the software can provide qualitative information on the drawn part which is in good agreement with the tests.
