Stategic Management of Sustainable Transport Innovations
The introduction and diffusion of new technologies which could help to solve the problem of sustainable transport is progressing slowly. One potential instrument for overcoming the current obstacles to diffusion is the concept of Strategic Niche Management (SNM). This project aims to widen the application field of SNM by using it in a prospective manner to manage introductory processes and/or develop future scenarios for current sustainable transport innovations. An analysis of several experiments aimed at introducing sustainable transport innovations was conducted and the SNM approach has proved to be an excellent tool for explaining the potential opportunities, and pitfalls, of introductory processes in the transport sector.
