Domestic Biomass Combustion and Associated Atmospheric Emissions in West Africa
The paper assessed the contribution from biofuel to regional anthropogenic emissions in West Africa. The biofuel emissions are estimated from data collected in the DECAFE experiment. These estimates are then compared to those of savannah fires. The paper shows that these domestic emissions are a very important source of pollutants and that their temporal distribution differs from that of a savannah fire.
